Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.

Biography

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. After going away to college at Georgetown University, I returned to Wisconsin for medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin (formally Marquette Medical School). I completed my surgical training in Milwaukee and went on to do specialty training in vascular surgery in Toledo, Ohio. I finished my training in 1983, and my sense of adventure led me to Southern California, where I was very fortunate get a position here at Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

My practice is focused on vascular problems (disease in blood vessels, both arteries and veins). As we get older our blood vessels can become hard, narrow, or dilate. Most of these changes don't cause symptoms and therefore do not often require surgical treatment. If you are referred to me, I see my job as finding out what the problem is, defining the cause of the problem, finding a way to slow down progress of the disease, and if the problem is causing more serious symptoms, discussing the benefits and risks of further treatment.

How I thrive

I am very blessed to have a loving, supportive wife and family. They not only allow me time to pursue me my profession, but also are there to share my hobbies of golf, hiking, travel, and playing the guitar.
