About Me
Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to helping you with your health.
Biography
I grew up on the East Coast and am fortunate to have had my education and training in different parts of the country and even Canada. I attended college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where I majored in biophysics, and then I completed my medical degree in New York City at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Residency in neurosurgery first brought me to Southern California (where I met my wife), followed by a fellowship in reconstructive spine surgery at the University of Toronto. After training, I was in practice for 17 years in Wisconsin in a multispecialty clinic. The warm weather, family connections, and opportunity to join a great Neurosurgery Department here at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center attracted me back to this area.
About my practice
I am one of 8 neurosurgeons here at the Fontana Medical Center. I am interested in and have experience in both cranial and spinal neurosurgery, but my practice focuses on the management of degenerative, traumatic, congenital, and tumor disorders of the spine. My surgical interests include performing spinal fusions and incorporating minimally invasive techniques. My philosophy is to treat each member as an individual to help maximize his or her quality of life.
How I thrive
My wife and 2 children (boy and girl) are the rocks of my life, keeping me grounded in what can be a challenging and demanding profession. Together, we enjoy travelling, music, movies, and good food. To relax, I also enjoy cycling, hiking, tennis, playing guitar, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
