About Me

Hello and welcome to the Department of Gastroenterology at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center, where I have been practicing since 2004. I look forward to meeting you and establishing a collaborative relationship through which we can promote a healthy digestive tract for you.

Biography

I was born in Iran and came to the U.S. when I was 16 years old. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in biological sciences at the University of California, Irvine, and attended the University of Rochester for my medical education. I completed my training in internal medicine at UCI and went on to train in the field of gastroenterology at Brooklyn Hospital in New York. I love to travel and have visited over 50 countries, and plan to reach 100! My brother is also a Kaiser Permanente physician and has been practicing at the Los Angeles Medical Center since 2000.

About my practice

I believe in listening to my patients and hearing them out, because they are the most valuable source of information to me during each visit. I also believe in quality over quantity when it comes to health care delivery. In my opinion and based on my experience, more x-rays, blood tests and procedures do not necessarily equate to better care.

How I thrive

I have run two marathons and exercise several days a week on a regular basis. I am very conscious of my diet and make every attempt to eat right and live a healthy life style. For breakfast, I make a smoothie where I combine four types of vegetables with at least two types of fruits, some protein powder and milk. That is how I jump start my day!
