About Me

I’m a third generation Coloradan. I grew up in South Denver and attended the University of Colorado as did my grandparents, my father and my son. I live in the mountains in Evergreen with my husband and our dog, Charlie. I have two sons who are now away at college, who loved growing up in the mountains. Our family loves to hike, bike and ski. I always knew I wanted to work with children so when I became interested in Medicine, Pediatrics was a natural choice for me.

About my practice

I have been practicing pediatrics for nearly 30 years. I began in a private practice in Oregon and then came to the Lakewood Kaiser Permanente Colorado in 1983! I’m a gardener and love being in nature. I have been learning about the many health benefits of children being in nature. Kids who spend time outside in green spaces everyday are more physical, healthy and are less likely to have depression and anxiety. I give my patients a prescription to get outside every day and to spend time in nature. I know they will feel better if they do!

How I thrive

I love to garden. I plant and maintain the flower and vegetable garden at the front door of the Lakewood medical office. Check out the colorful zinnias! I hike in the mountains every week, ride my bike and love to cross-country ski in the winter with my family and friends. I volunteer at two local school gardens and partner with Jefferson County Open Space and Lakewood Parks and Recreation to encourage kids to be outside. Walking in Belmar Park near the Lakewood medical office is beautiful. It calms my mind and gives me energy when I get to walk there at lunch time.
