About Me

Welcome to my Web page! It's an honor to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I am a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician.

Biography

I grew up in Northridge in the San Fernando Valley and my family lives in Los Angeles. I have also lived in Mexico and speak fluent Spanish. I always wanted to become a physician from the time I was a small child. I enjoy each day for having the opportunity to help others. I completed two different residency programs, in physical medicine and rehabilitation and family medicine, as well as a hospice and palliative care fellowship at UCLA and Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles. I believe that this unique training has made me a more knowledgeable and compassionate physician.

About my practice

Physical medicine and rehabilitation is a medical specialty that deals with the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal problems and some neurological conditions, including pain in different parts of the body, strokes, and injuries to the brain and spinal cord. Physicians like me are called physiatrists. We do not perform surgery, but utilize injections and medications, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and assistive devices such as braces. We also perform electro diagnostic studies, known as electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies. I am board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, sports medicine, and family medicine.

How I thrive

I enjoy running, and ever since college I have participated in the Los Angeles Marathon. This year I also participated in the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon. I enjoy spending quality time with family and make it a priority in my life. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
