About Me

I am a licensed psychologist and currently the group therapist at Kaiser Permanente Beaverton. I received my Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and I did my undergraduate at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, I was a tenure-track professor at California State University, Northridge, and a staff psychologist and groups coordinator at the counseling center at CSUN.

About my practice

I love being a group therapist because I truly believe in the power of group support. Being in a group with other individuals with the same struggles helps patients to feel as if they are not alone; I love seeing how group members support one another in the journey to mental health. Being able to teach skills and tools that change people's lives is such a gift, and I love seeing improvement in my group members!

How I thrive

To me, thriving is all about balance. “Work hard, play hard” is a philosophy that I try to live by. I am a fairly new "yogi" and have recently gotten into hot yoga, though at times I prefer yin classes that feel more like a really good nap. I meditate regularly, which I find brings calm and focus to my sometimes overactive mind. I teach mindfulness daily and feel that it’s important not to only talk the talk but to walk the walk, and I'm a true believer in the power of meditation to change your brain. Also, I can often be found on walks around my neighborhood with my terrier, Dewey!
