About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I would like to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.
Biography
I was 13 years old when my father died of an infected gallbladder. His death had a tremendous impact on me, because I knew it could have been prevented had he received better medical care. That motivated me to go into medicine. My goal is to treat my patients with the utmost care, competence, and dedication.
About my practice
I have been practicing at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County as a board certified otolaryngologist since 1985, and my scope of practice covers the entire range of head and neck surgery, including tonsillectomy, septoplasty and sinus surgery, and neck surgery with particular emphasis on thyroid diseases, as well as surgeries for chronic ear conditions. I have performed more than 4,000 thyroid surgeries and 300 tympanoplasties, mastoidectomies, and stapedectomies.
How I thrive
In addition to my practice, I have trained more than 50 physician residents from UC Irvine specializing in otolaryngology. I was recognized for dedicated teaching in 1997 through the UC Irvine Outstanding Volunteer Clinical Faculty award. My hobbies include reading and hiking. I have a particular interest in Middle Eastern history, and I enjoy hiking the Eastern Sierra. For the past five years, I have been hiking Mt. Whitney on an annual basis, completing the trek in one day.
