About Me
Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Dhiman. I am an internist at the Kaiser Permanente Lancaster Medical Offices . I approach member care by attempting to understand the whole person and the many factors that may affect their well-being. Only by understanding the social, mental, and physical state of a member can an effective course of action be determined.
Biography
I was born in India and began my career as a pharmacist. Soon I discovered there were many other ways I could help my fellow human beings. After serious consideration, I decided I should become a physician and applied to several medical schools. I was accepted by UC Davis and spent several years broadening my understanding of medicine. From there I went on to perform my rotations with the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, and then completed my residency at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar.
About my practice
I believe that members should be active participants, not passive recipients, of health care. This requires empowering members with the knowledge, understanding, and motivation to take the actions needed to improve their own situation. Whether it is remembering to take their medications, putting a little more effort into a weight loss program, or simply stepping out and getting more exercise, the full cooperation of the member is required to make meaningful progress. My job is to act as a guide, cheerleader, and coach.
How I thrive
Finding balance in my own life is critical to being an effective physician. I try to eat well, exercise regularly, and find time to relax and meditate every day. When schedules allow, I enjoy traveling. I’ve visited many parts of America, but Hawaii is my favorite destination.
