About Me

My name is Tintin Manuela-Abad, and you can call me Doctor Abad. I am a young, vibrant, and well-experienced general pediatrician. I have dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood. My passion to care for the sick kids grew stronger when I started caring for less privileged children in many medical missions and outreach programs.

Biography

I was already a full-fledged board-certified and practicing pediatrician back in Manila, Philippines, when I came to the USA with my loving husband and 2 beautiful kids. The journey was not easy when my family and I migrated to the USA in 2010. Despite the many challenges I faced, my determination and the support I received from my family, especially from my husband, brought me to where I am today. I completed my pediatric residency training and graduated as one of the chief residents at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, in 2013. After graduation, I worked as the Assistant Clinic Director of Hurley Children’s Center, a pediatric resident clinic at Hurley Medical Center. With that, I had a chance to teach our medical students and pediatric resident doctors. After 2 years, I became the director of the same clinic. I completed many quality improvements in the clinic and collaborated on a few research projects with the residents and medical students that were presented nationally and have positively impacted the quality of care I provide in my practice.

About my practice

To keep members healthy and strong is my goal. I find fulfillment in sharing my knowledge through teaching parents about their child’s health care needs. I am very passionate about providing preventive care and encouraging healthier lifestyles, both which positively influence a family’s well-being. I love caring for newborns, children of various ages, and teens. I have a lot of experience in managing children with developmental and behavioral concerns and multiple challenging problems. My commitment is always to the well-being and welfare of members and their families. In order to fulfill my commitment, I try my very best to connect with members and families by using my listening and communication skills. As a member of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, I envision more opportunities for my growth as a pediatrician and many opportunities for me to positively impact the health of our future generations.

How I thrive

Spending quality time with my husband over coffee and with kids at home chatting, singing, dancing , joking and watching movies. I also love to travel with my family to visit new places and try new foods. Children grow fast and my husband and I wanted to spend most of our time with them while we still can.
