Thank you for taking time to learn more about me. I'm honored to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health. I appreciate how important it is for you to feel comfortable with your physician, and I hope you find this Web page helpful in getting to know me.

Biography

I was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and moved to California along with my family when I was two years old. I was always interested in medicine growing up, especially women's health. I was inspired by going with my mom to her Ob/Gyn appointments and witnessing the wide spectrum of patients in the waiting room. My interest increased when I spent many weekends with my grandmother during her battle with ovarian cancer. Her trust in her physicians and the way they motivated her amazed and inspired me. I decided early on that I wanted to become be an advocate and leader in women's health. I attended UC Irvine for my undergraduate and medical school education, and I completed my residency training at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix. I am married, and we are blessed with two beautiful children. I enjoy traveling and spending quality time with my family.

About my practice

Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what members need. Being a physician allows people to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes. It is a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.

How I thrive

I truly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of total health, which considers all aspects of a person's state of being, body, mind, and spirit. I value the importance of a balanced life. On a daily basis, I thrive by trying to keep a balance between spending quality time with my family, taking care of my health by working out, and striving to become a caring physician to my members.
