About Me
Welcome to my Web Page! I'm glad to have this opportunity to introduce myself, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
Biography
Born and raised in Los Angeles (and a Kaiser Permanente member throughout my youth), I spent my college, medical school, and residency years in the Midwest (Michigan and Chicago). My family and the beautiful weather lured me back to Southern California in 1990, when I joined the Dermatology Department at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center. I initially took full advantage of our weather with hobbies such as beach volleyball, tennis, kayaking, and mountain biking. Nowadays, my three small children have more opportunities to enjoy our wonderful climate than I, but I'm still grateful to not have to spend what free time I do have shoveling snow! I do, however, still seek out the snow when ski season hits.
About my practice
I've witnessed some amazing changes and worked with some terrific physicians since I joined, but I feel particularly fortunate to be working with the exceptional group of physicians and staff that I do today. The providers in my department share a common philosophy: we are here to help meet the needs of our members, not just treat their skin. We want to make your visit to our department a pleasant and gratifying one, and we strive to work as a cohesive team to achieve that. We all enjoy sharing our knowledge and abilities, so don't be surprised if we ask to bring in a couple of extra physicians for additional opinions!
How I thrive
Though a work in progress, a balanced life is extremely important to me. With three young girls, this is becoming increasingly challenging! My passion for science, critical thinking and environmental causes, and my love of sports and the outdoors, will hopefully continue to play a significant role in my life in the years to come.
