About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I've worked at Kaiser Permanente in Downey since 1985. Currently, my practice is focused on geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, and hospice care.

Biography

I was motivated to focus on care of the elderly because of the close relationship I had with my grandmother. She was an independent woman well into her 80s. She traveled across the country by herself, took the bus all over the city, and volunteered in a local hospital. I continue to be inspired by her to help elderly people live their lives to the fullest! After medical school and residency training, I moved to California to enjoy the sunny, warm weather, but I go back to visit family in New Jersey as often as I can. I have three children, a wonderful husband, and a big Golden Retriever.

About my practice

I enjoy taking care of our members who are transitioning from the hospital to their homes. I also have a special interest in end-of-life care and am part of our palliative medicine team, which provides care with special attention to relief of suffering to our Kaiser Permanente members with life-threatening illnesses, both in the hospital and at home. I enjoy working with a team that includes nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists. I take pride in our holistic approach to caring for our members, some of whom are dealing with very serious illnesses.

How I thrive

My hobbies include reading, bicycling, rollerblading, snowboarding, and cooking. Right now I like to spend as much time as I can with my children as they keep my body and spirit young!
