About Me
I was born in Wyoming, but moved to Denver when I was 4. Although I have lived and worked in a variety of other places, I raised my family in Denver and love the Colorado lifestyle. I am trained as a social worker, so I tend to look at the whole person in the context of their environment. I am also interested in, and have received additional training in family therapy, as well as Animals and Human Relationships.
About my practice
Populations: Adult, Child, Family, Group, Seniors, Teens. Specialties: Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Grief and Loss, Mood Disorders, OCD, Parenting, PTSD, Trauma, and other chronic conditions. Interventions: CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ERP. I believe in system theory; in that, I believe the interaction between the person and their environment is important. Prior to working at Kaiser Permanente, I worked in the field of child protection, residential care, and teen parents. I have extensive experience and training in child and family therapy, as well as trauma treatment. Since working at Kaiser Permanente I've received additional education on many subjects including geriatric care, anxiety, depression, and mindfulness. I feel comfortable treating clients of all ages. I enjoy helping clients discover their internal resources and strengths. I try to be a collaborative therapist and believe that a shared treatment plan is important. I often refer to many of the additional groups and/or classes through Behavioral Health and/or Kaiser Permanente in general as an adjunct to therapy. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care. I offer my patients convenience and can answer their questions by email or phone calls.
How I thrive
I have always enjoyed being active, running has been a passion for over 30 years. I love to be outside hiking with my dogs. I enjoy reading and/or listening to books. My family is very important to me and we spend as much time together as possible.
