About Me

I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and present my credentials for your consideration. I feel it is most important for you to feel comfortable with me as your physician and to have complete confidence in my ability to care for you. I believe that knowing a few things about me will help.

Biography

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a physician. My first stethoscope was one used by my brother as a medic in the U.S. Navy. During high school and college, physiology and anatomy classes fascinated me. The human mind and body are truly miraculous, and keeping both functioning well is my consuming interest and passion in life. I am always excited at the prospect of learning something new. I have served on the faculty for the family medicine residency for many years and enjoy teaching and learning with the new physicians in our program.

About my practice

The profession of medicine is such a wonderful experience, as it allows me to help address some of my patients' deepest concerns and care for their needs. It is truly an honor to have the trust and confidence of my patients. I have had the experience of medicine for many years and I am continually amazed and inspired by the resilience of the human spirit.

How I thrive

It is important for a physician to be in good health physically and mentally to better serve the interests of patients. I exercise daily and enjoy running, downhill skiing, mountain biking, and playing hide-and-seek with my young granddaughter (which may be the most strenuous of all). I enjoy reading and have interest in history and art. My wife is a piano teacher and we both enjoy musical concerts and programs. With our children and grandchildren, we love to travel and broaden our understanding of other lands and cultures.
