About Me
Hello. I am Dr. Michael Steinbaum, and I welcome you to my Web page.
Biography
I am a native Southern Californian and enjoy all that our area has to offer. I enjoy the outdoors and regularly take advantage of our great weather. I am an active runner and cyclist and try to hike around our local mountains once in awhile. Although I’m not a "graceful" skier, I like to take my children on a ski trip during the winter so they have something to laugh about the rest of the year (dad trying to ski down a hill he has no business being on). I became interested in podiatry while attending UCLA as an undergraduate. Podiatry was emerging as a component of sports medicine during the running boom, and I wanted to be part of this movement.
About my practice
I treat a variety of conditions in my podiatric practice at Kaiser Permanente, including lots of broken bones and sprains in both children and adults. I also have a large diabetic practice, and a big part of what I do for my diabetic patients is aimed at prevention. I also treat everything from ingrown toenails to heel spurs.
How I thrive
I believe in keeping physically fit, and I try to get some form of exercise daily. I also try to have a healthy diet, but I have found this to be more of a challenge. I feel very fortunate to have a profession that allows me to help others maintain a healthy lifestyle.
