About Me
Hello! Welcome to my Web page.
Biography
I am board certified in both general adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics with a minor in Asian languages and cultures from UCLA, and a master’s degree in secondary education from Loyola Marymount University. I completed my medical education at Touro University California. Following medical school, I received training in the General Adult Psychiatry Residency Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and subspecialized in the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Program there. Prior to my career in psychiatry, I was a high school AP biology teacher and provided services for inner city students in the Los Angeles Unified School District. I was a member of the Americorps Program and the Teach for America movement. I believe in the importance of providing equitable access to critical education and high quality mental health care.
About my practice
I am committed to providing warm, thoughtful, and compassionate care. My treatment modalities include evidence-based psychotherapy, advanced psychopharmacology, and holistic strategies to alleviate suffering and restore health. I value the collaborative approach in developing individualized patient-centered treatment plans. Integral to my practice philosophy is the concept that the betterment of physical well-being, interpersonal effectiveness, and the practice of self-compassion are synergistic to the restoration of mental well-being.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies include reading fiction novels, xeriscaping with eternally forgiving succulents and cacti, long-distance running, and trying new cuisines.
