About Me
Service is a mantra in my family. My parents were educators and my older siblings are also physicians. I completed my medical education, in addition to a master's degree in public health, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The emergency department has been a natural fit for my interest in public health issues such as violence, injury prevention, infectious diseases and health care in underserved communities. I enjoy the energetic pace of being a medical detective in addition to taking care of my patients at a time when they need a physician the most.
About my practice
I work primarily in Kaiser Permanente's Acute Care Center (ACC). This has been a tremendous opportunity to provide emergency and urgent care services to Kaiser Permanente members 365 days a year. The ACC is an amazing concept that encompasses the delivery of optimal emergency care and the coordination of care among all the departments of Kaiser Permanente. If indicated, members can be admitted for up to 24 hours and certain specialty care can be provided onsite without the need to transfer patients to a hospital setting. My goal is to provide excellent medical care to our members.
How I thrive
"Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some." -Robert Fulghum Balance is the way I thrive and find happiness. Hard work is very important to me and I find that enriching my mind and spirit helps me to perform well at my job. I enjoy running, salsa dancing, photography, making jewelry and international travel.
