I grew up in rural Georgia, where health care was not easily accessible. Therefore, going to the doctor was a big deal and not done very often. This actually helped fuel my interest in medicine. I chose pediatrics specifically because I love kids and feel that being a pediatrician is one of the best jobs in the world. Nothing is better than a hug and a smile!
