About Me
Welcome! I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
Biography
I am originally from San Antonio, TX and spent most of my life in central Texas where trained to become an adult psychiatrist. This time was invaluable as I was fortunate enough to train within a combined military/civilian program and had the opportunity to give back to our service members who have sacrificed so much for us. I then moved to Chicago to complete a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. While I loved the city in the summer, the winters proved to be a bit much. The weather was reason enough to move to Los Angeles, but it was also my desire to work as a Kaiser Permanente physician and be a part of a patient-centered system of care.
About my practice
My practice centers on getting to know each of my patients on a personal level so that I can tailor treatment to incorporate your goals, values, and strengths. This likely includes a thorough discussion of not only medication, but also the integration of psychotherapy and self-care to help realize the most significant gains possible.
How I thrive
Balance and awareness of the power of diet, exercise, spirituality, and social engagement guide my day-to-day activities and is something that I try to emphasize for everyone I encounter, not just my patients. It is important to remember to take time for ourselves each day and recognize that there are a multitude of small joys around us each day if we only take the time to be in the moment. It's these small things that together, provide strength and stability to help us weather the more difficult moments.
