About Me

Thank you for visiting my Web page and getting to know a little more about me. I am thrilled to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente family, and I look forward to getting to know you as well.

Biography

I was born in Oklahoma and moved to Los Angeles at age 7. I attended high school in La Canada, a small suburb of Los Angeles, and then attended college at UC Berkeley, where I majored in molecular biology and religious studies. I returned to Los Angeles for medical school at UCLA, and remained there for my internship and residency in internal medicine, training at both Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital. I completed my fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at four Los Angeles hospitals. I greatly enjoyed working at Kaiser Permanente during my fellowship, and I’m happy to continue my career at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County.

About my practice

I work in the intensive care unit one week per month and spend the rest of my time in a pulmonary clinic and at the hospital. I often take care of very sick people, helping them handle very difficult health problems. As a pulmonary and critical care physician, I believe my most important role is not just to order tests or perform procedures, but to communicate with members and their families, so that together we can make the best decisions for each individual. I feel honored to care for you during challenging situations, and strive every day to provide excellent care.

How I thrive

When I'm not working, I try to play with my family as much as possible. My husband and I were married in Hawaii, and we love to vacation there each year. Now we have two children who love the Hawaiian sun and sand just as much as we do. Having fun with my kids brings great balance to my life. I truly believe that being a daughter, wife, and mother makes me a much better doctor.
