About Me

I grew up in northwest Indiana, about 25 miles southeast of Chicago. I studied biology and French at Purdue University and after graduation was able to combine those interests during Peace Corps service in Guinea, West Africa. The Peace Corps changed my life in so many ways! I learned about the power and strength of women and the critical importance of women's health to every community. I returned from West Africa with the goal of becoming a nurse-midwife.

About my practice

I believe that women are powerful, creative, intuitive beings. I hold dearly the belief that women possess the capability and intelligence to guide their own health care, and I feel fortunate to be a part of that process. I see women throughout their childbearing years and beyond. I am particularly passionate about caring for women in pregnancy and about family planning.

How I thrive

I love spending time with my husband and two children. I also spend a lot of time with my amazing rescue pup, Cyrus. In my free time I love to cook, cycle, dance with friends, and do hot yoga. Also, I will never say “no” to a costume party. If I weren't a midwife, I'd be a travel writer.
