About Me

I am a transgender care physician. As an LGBTQ ally, I am passionate about improving the healthcare of this community.

Biography

I grew up in Houston, Texas, and completed my undergraduate studies at Stanford University in California. I attended the University of Texas at Houston for medical school and returned to California to complete my residency in internal medicine at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, followed by a year of chief residency. I pursued a fellowship in infectious diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and then joined Kaiser Permanente at West Los Angeles. After practicing infectious disease care including HIV medicine for more than 10 years, I transitioned my practice to focus on the healthcare needs of the transgender and gender nonconforming community.

About my practice

I am the medical director of the Transition Pathways Clinic, Kaiser Permanente Southern California's first clinic for gender-affirming care. I work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, culturally competent care to our members as they go through their transition journeys.

How I thrive

In my free time, I love to travel to places with beautiful, natural landscapes. At home in Los Angeles, I practice yoga, hike, and ride my bicycle at the beach.
