About Me

I am originally from Mississippi, but due to family living in the metro area, I have considered Atlanta my second home since adolescence. I decided to pursue a career in medicine during my sophomore year of college as a way to help people. Psychiatry has been a rewarding field, which has allowed me to help many people.

About my practice

I have always believed in quality mental health services that are not completely dictated by insurance panels and time restraints. I believe that most patients will benefit from psychotropic medication in combination with psychotherapy. My model of care is a strong physician-patient therapeutic alliance that includes safe and responsible medication management.

I have more than a decade of experience in psychotropic medication management for a variety of psychiatric conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings. During my medical training I learned about psychodynamic psychotherapy, and I was supervised by experienced psychoanalysts. I also am familiar with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

How I thrive

I thrive by spending time with my young children who make my heart smile. I also enjoy baking cakes and breads, which are not always healthy, but are comforting. I feel renewed when I travel and when I commit to sleep hygiene.
