About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I am fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of our wonderful and diverse members and physicians. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve health and happiness.

Biography

I was born and raised in San Francisco and attended UC Berkeley before heading to Portland, Oregon, where I attended medical school. I then moved to Denver with my wife to complete my residency at the Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program of the University of Colorado. My wife is a native of Long Beach. After residency, we moved back to California to enjoy the weather and be closer to our families. We now have 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son).

About my practice

The best part about being a personal physician is developing a relationship with people over time. I love learning about people’s backgrounds and hearing their stories. I believe that my job as a physician is to proactively help members stay healthy so they spend less time with me and more time enjoying the people and activities they love. I also have an interest in administrative work and recently took on the role of Chief of Service for the General Internal Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente’s Downey Medical Center. I am comfortable caring for a diverse group of members including LGBTQ individuals and try to practice culturally appropriate care.

How I thrive

I ride my bike to or from work several days a week, and I enjoy biking around in my free time as well. I also enjoy playing basketball and tennis weekly. Most importantly, I enjoy the company of my wife, growing kids, and extended family and friends throughout Southern California. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance and staying physically and mentally active are what help me live well on a daily basis.
