About Me
I was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in Oregon. I completed my MSW degree at Portland State University in 1985. I have a background in community mental health and have been working at Kaiser Permanente for the last 16 years. I enjoy working with all age groups and have specialized in working with eating disorders since I came to Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I have always enjoyed working with a team and like to coordinate patient care with primary care providers and nutritionists and/or other professionals when applicable. I use CBT and DBT skills as well as family systems theory and a strength based and problem solving treatment approach. I enjoy working with a variety of age groups and presenting problems and have the most experience with depression, anxiety, eating disorders and trauma. When working with children or teens I like including the entire family when appropriate.
How I thrive
I like to take a few minutes at the end of each day to do a brief meditation. I also enjoy spending time outdoors being active and I hike, backpack, bike, ski, and snowshoe. I like to cook and am an avid reader. I also like to spend time with friends and family.
