About Me
Hi, and welcome to my Web page! My name is Jayana. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician. I am an internal medicine physician and have practiced for more than 15 years with Kaiser Permanente. I feel very fortunate to work here, because of my wonderful colleagues, our team approach to health care, and, of course, our members.
Biography
I had all my training in Southern California, starting with UCLA for undergraduate studies, UC San Francisco for medical school, and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for my internal medicine residency. I have extensive experience in caring for members with diverse backgrounds. I am board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative care. I am blessed to reside in Orange County with my family, which includes my husband and my son and daughter.
About my practice
I chose medicine as a career as it gives me a daily opportunity to connect and help people in a meaningful way. The majority of the members I see are the elderly. My practice involves nursing home care, home visits for members on hospice care, and hospital rounds. I have suffered a personal illness of my own and am now a breast cancer survivor. I feel blessed to work in a field where I work with members and utilize my medical skills and knowledge to help them. The part of my job that I enjoy best is listening and responding to what members need. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
I am a strong advocate of Kaiser Permanente's Thrive philosophy. I adhere to a vegetarian, organic diet and try my best to exercise daily. I enjoy yoga, reading, and cooking new recipes from basic ingredients. I have also enjoyed the ability to volunteer my medical services in community based outreach programs.
