About Me

Welcome to my Web page. It is an honor and a privilege for me to serve my community in West Los Angeles, and I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.

Biography

I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, and then in a small town in southwest Michigan called Saint Joseph. I received my bachelor's degree and medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago as part of their Honors Program for Medical Education. My residency in internal medicine was at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. My gastroenterology fellowship was UC San Diego. I also received specialized training in gastrointestinal motility diseases at the University of Michigan. I became a physician because I feel there is nothing more satisfying than giving comfort and hope to people in their time of need. Being a part of reclaiming a member’s health and wellness is itself a reward.

About my practice

I believe we are stronger and can go further when everyone on a team shares the same vision and goal. Just as the physical human body has many parts, yet all the parts of the body are one unit, so is our team joined in this common goal of keeping our members well. I also consider members as part of that team and like to empower them to take action so they can have the most productive and satisfying life possible.

How I thrive

Every person has 3 parts: a body, a soul, and a spirit. We need to spend time to take care of all 3 parts so our whole being can be healthy and well. This is what it means to have a holistic approach to health and wellness. I enjoy hiking, traveling, trying new foods, playing the piano and guitar, singing, praying, reading the Bible, and staying involved in the community through my church.
