About Me

I grew up on the Oregon Coast and graduated from Seaside High School. Early on, I considered careers in veterinary medicine and nursing, but after working briefly as a medical assistant in a family practice setting, I realized that being a physician was my calling. I completed my undergraduate degree at Portland State University and my medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, where my clinical experience led me to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I loved the balance of surgical and medical care and the incredible privilege of helping newborns come safely into the world. I enjoyed 16 years practicing general OB/GYN in a multispecialty clinic in Vancouver, Washington, and now my practice focuses primarily on obstetrics in a hospital setting.

About my practice

I am committed to providing excellent, safe care that respects each patient's autonomy. I see my role as an educator, providing patients with the information they need to make health care decisions for themselves. As an obstetrician in the hospital my goal is to achieve safe delivery in a manner that promotes family bonding. I support personal choice in managing labor and delivery, and I am comfortable managing vaginal birth after cesarean and vaginal delivery of twins. I enjoy collaborating with nursing staff and providing care as a team.

How I thrive

I enjoy playing tennis, traveling, and cooking gourmet foods. I spend time salmon fishing with my dad on the Columbia River, trying to land that monster spring chinook. I also take time with Mom, picking wild berries and mushrooms. I revel in attending an occasional Trailblazer game or OSU baseball game with my husband. I have two incredible daughters and frequently include them in my travel and outdoor adventures.
