About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
Biography
I am a Latina and speak fluent Spanish. I grew up in San Diego and enjoy living near the ocean. I have always wanted to take care of people. I began my career as a nurse’s aide, then, as I received more training, continued as an LVN (licensed vocational nurse) and then as an RN (registered nurse). Wanting more involvement in member care, I worked as a nurse while taking my premed classes, and I eventually entered Dartmouth Medical School. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of women and delivering babies, so becoming an ob-gyn physician has been a perfect fit for me. Cross-cultural medicine has always been important to me, and I enjoyed working on a Navajo reservation after I finished my ob-gyn training.
About my practice
I really enjoy getting to know members and feel that this contributes to good patient care. I believe in involving members in their own health care and forming care plans that best fit them. I feel it is a privilege and great responsibility to care for members and greatly value their trust in me. Working together to better your health is my goal. I am now a hospitalist, which means I care for patients who are hospitalized. I work at both San Diego Medical Center and Palomar Health Downtown. I really enjoy taking care of patients in a hospital setting. I realize that being in the hospital can be a very stressful time for patients and their families. Taking care of patients is what I do best!
How I thrive
Balance in my life is very important. I enjoy spending time with family, taking walks on the beach and working in my yard. I try to have a positive outlook on life and feel that this contributes toward good health.
