About Me

I grew up in Music City, USA - aka Nashville, Tennessee! Nashville was a wonderful place to grow up, sunny and full of friendly people. I attended college and medical school there as well; I met my wonderful husband during my time at Vanderbilt. We now have a spirited, beautiful and fun daughter, and together we love hiking and traveling and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I decided to pursue medicine in high school, and it has been one of best decisions I've made. I find every day challenging and satisfying and I love what I do. Pathology is a wonderful amalgam of visual exploration combined with a bit of detective work at times.

About my practice

My specific specialty training is in genitourinary pathology. I love examining and diagnosing entities related to this organ system. However, I love anatomic pathology in general. My colleagues are an amazing resource as well, and I feel so lucky to be able to work with them each day. Although pathology is mostly a 'behind the scenes' specialty, with each case I think about how my report will impact the patient, and I enjoy working with the clinicians to determine the next best step in caring for our patients.

How I thrive

There are so many wonderful things to do in Portland, Oregon and the Northwest in general! I love most of all traveling and exploring with my husband and daughter. We love hiking, the forests are so beautiful. We also love biking, and when our daughter is old enough we look forward to taking her with us. I also enjoy yoga and the feeling of flexibility it gives me. I feel very grounded at home, and enjoy activities there, such as cooking, baking and reading.
