About Me

I have been a nurse practitioner for more than 25 years. I grew up in Southern California and received my Bachelor of Science in nursing from Long Beach State then my master’s from Boston University. I started my career in internal medicine and had the privilege of transferring to the department of dermatology 14 years ago after my son was born. With excellent physician support, I happily made the transition to dermatology. In my 25 years with Kaiser Permanente, I was awarded Outstanding Nurse Practitioner in 1995 and received the Legendary Service Award in 2004. This past year I passed a test and I’m now a dermatology certified nurse practitioner.

About my practice

My initial certification is as an adult nurse practitioner so I prefer to see members in their teens and up. My interest and expertise is in skin cancer surveillance. I identify biopsy and treat non-melanoma skin cancers on a daily basis. I enjoy working with seniors and all the skin issues that develop with aging sun damaged skin. Growing up in Southern California, I also fried my skin weekly and can relate to the challenges of keeping healthy skin. I also enjoy treating acne for members of all ages. My philosophy is to provide you with information and let you select the best course of therapy for your skin. I have seen the same members for years and have been able to establish an ongoing friendly relationship with all of them.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I have two dogs and enjoy walking. I recently started golfing. I enjoy reading, movies and travel as much as I can.
