About Me
I knew I needed help when I could not see the board during my first lecture hall class at University of California, Berkeley. No matter how close I sat to the front, it was all a blur. My classmate grew tired of me copying her notes, so I made an appointment at my school's optometry clinic. During my eye exam, I was impressed with the optometry student's care and found out as much as I could about her path to the profession. I was hooked! I love that the health of the eyes gives us so much information about overall health, and it's rewarding helping people see more clearly and comfortably — just as that optometry student helped me!
About my practice
I grew up in Southern California and have been a Kaiser Permanente patient since birth. Kaiser Permanente was my first introduction to the concept of preventing disease (not just waiting to treat it!). I practice optometry at Kaiser Permanente because it allows me to put the patient first. I have the latest technology and equipment to take excellent care of my patients and colleagues with a wide range of expertise to consult with. My clinical interests include helping patients with inflammatory conditions such as dry eye and ocular rosacea and managing chronic conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration. Many conditions go beyond the eye, and I enjoy discussing general health and how what we eat and how we move can affect our eye health and vision.
How I thrive
I try to keep myself healthy and calm with the hope that it allows me to do my job with clarity and thoughtfulness. A daily walk outside helps. I also enjoy reading fiction books and indoor cycling.
