About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself so you can know me a little better. It is important for you to feel comfortable with and have confidence in your child's physician. I believe good communication is the key to a successful working relationship with my patients.

Biography

I was born in India, had my initial medical school studies there, and then moved to Chicago to do my pediatric residency. Chicago is a wonderful, active city but too cold for me. So along with my husband and son, I moved to California after my completing residency in 2001. I love the outdoors, and enjoy spending many hours hiking or being in my backyard, so I certainly appreciate and enjoy sunny California. I love being a physician, and especially a pediatrician. It is a privilege to be able to touch so many young lives and hopefully influence them in a positive way.

About my practice

As a Kaiser Permanente pediatrician, I can concentrate on being a physician first. I believe healthy eating, fresh air, and exercise, and a positive attitude are the essentials of a healthy life. I am here to help you bring up a healthy child, practicing preventive care with limited medical intervention when needed. I believe one of the challenges for us as parents and pediatricians is not what to do but when and how much to intervene. I am open to questions and willing to listen to personal beliefs that have a bearing on your child's health.

How I thrive

I enjoy my work but also like to spend time with my family on little weekend trips to our wonderful national parks and hike almost every weekend. I try to exercise (jogging or yoga) every day and am trying to incorporate plant-based-diet values in my daily eating habits. I firmly believe in conserving the environment and am a member of the WWF and National Geographic Society. I also love reading, hiking, and music. I want to enjoy every day as I work to improve myself.
