About Me
I was born at home in the village of Beenham, England into the hands of a midwife. I discovered my own passion for caring for women during pregnancy and birth during my nursing education in London. I graduated as a midwife from Exeter College of Nursing and Midwifery in the fall of 1981 and have practiced as a nurse midwife ever since. I completed my masters in midwifery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1995.
About my practice
I work as a "float" midwife of labor and delivery at Kaiser Permanente's Sunnyside and Westside medical offices, filling in when other midwives take time for rejuvenation and continuing education. I also serve women in the outpatient clinic setting as needed for pregnancy visits, physical exams, contraceptive care and urgent care. I prioritize the safety of mother and baby during pregnancy and birth while respecting the choices of a woman and her family.
How I thrive
I immigrated to the United States in 1985 after marrying my American husband. We have two wonderful young adult children. I have backyard chickens which give me great pleasure as they are very easy to please and are always happy to see me. I love kayaking in calm water, knitting, and travelling to my homeland regularly to drink good tea and visit with my family.
