About Me
Hello! My name is Caitlin Dockweiler, and I am a physician specializing in hospice and palliative medicine. I hope this page will allow you to get to know me a bit better, both as a physician and person.
Biography
I grew up in sunny San Diego and have lived here most of my life. After a brief detour in Boston and New York City for college, I returned to San Diego for medical school. After medical school, I completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at UC San Diego. From there, I went on to complete a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the combined UC San Diego/Scripps program. I feel grateful to be able to continue to provide care to the San Diego population at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I believe in getting to know each member as a person, and I feel it is vital to understand each member’s values and goals in order to offer guidance during complex medical decision making. I also believe in working closely with members to help alleviate the symptoms of suffering that can come with life-limiting illnesses in order to maximize quality of life.
How I thrive
Balance and self-care are very important to me. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside, being active and exercising, traveling, cooking and baking, and spending time with my family and dog.
