About Me
Welcome to my Web page. Here you will find information about me and my practice, as well as my department and staff. If you are reading this, there is a chance that you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer. I want to assure you that every member of my department is completely dedicated to providing the highest quality and most compassionate care during this difficult time.
Biography
I was born in San Diego in 1962. After living in many regions of the country, I knew one day I would return to Southern California. Attending medical school in Florida gave me a great base to build upon to ultimately achieve my calling as a board-certified radiation oncologist for Kaiser Permanente. Living in Southern California offers wonderful opportunities for myself and my family (my wife and two boys) to pursue our interests, which consist mainly of just being together, whether it be exercising outdoors, reading, dining, local theater or anything else (as long as we are sharing it together).
About my practice
Medicine as a career, and oncology in particular, is a very special opportunity and privilege to connect and help people in a meaningful way. Utilizing advanced technology, along with competent and current medical skills and knowledge, is obviously an important component to providing the best radiation oncology services. Along with that, listening and responding to what patients need is also an important part of being a good doctor for me. It is a privilege to help you make the best treatment plan for you or your loved one to fight cancer. To do this, I coordinate with other specialists and professionals in and outside of my department, to make sure we understand what concerns patients, translate what they may not initially understand, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations and treatments, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that patients have entrusted me with their care. I strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of staying well in mind, body, and spirit, and try to live it in my life by taking good care of myself and my family. My family life is my major priority, and I enjoy family outings to the park, or playing together at our home. With my two young boys, I have a very real understanding in the importance of doing everything I can to maintain my good health. With many resources available to members to help maintain both physical and mental well being, Kaiser Permanente can help all of us live healthy, and I hope you will take advantage of these resources as a valued member.
