About Me

I was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I went to medical school at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and subsequently completed my internal medicine residency at the University of Utah. I then trained at the University of New Mexico for my gastroenterology fellowship and advanced endoscopy fellowship.
For me, medicine combines the competency, knowledge and research of science with the clinical skills and ability to help others. It is a combination of competency with compassion. I chose to specialize in gastroenterology because it represents a unique combination of internal medicine elements that focuses on patient interaction and medical management of diseases with the additional ability to diagnose and intervene endoscopically.

About my practice

While I enjoy all facets of gastroenterology, my particular area of focus is therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP procedures. I also have trained in performing other advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic stent placement, single balloon enteroscopy, volumetric laser endomicroscopy, Barrx radiofrequency ablation and endoscopic OverStitch. Throughout my years in practice, I have developed a deep appreciation for the details and scientific physiology of the human body and its ability to overcome diseases. I see the practice of medicine as a partnership with you. I look forward to getting to know you and working together as a team.

How I thrive

I thrive by spending time with my family, friends and golden retriever, Paddington. In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, jet skiing, swimming, playing the bass guitar and ice hockey.
