About Me

Hi everyone, and thank you for visiting my Web page. This is Nahidh Hasaniya, MD, PhD. I am a heart surgeon who is board-certified in general surgery, adult and pediatric heart surgery, and heart transplant surgery. I have been doing open heart surgery since 2000. I completed my training in Hawaii, Loma Linda, and Hope Children’s Hospital in Chicago. I enjoy helping people by performing open heart surgeries.

Biography

I was born and raised in Kuwait. During the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait in 1990, I covered orthopedic, trauma, plastic surgery, and OB/GYN services. I have lots of stories to tell. I chose to become a surgeon in my early college years since I was a calligrapher and an artist. My PhD thesis, from 1997, was on prevention of ischemia reperfusion injury in a rabbit lung model. I love doing research, I have had several articles published.

About my practice

I practice now in Kaiser Permanente’s Fontana Medical Center, where my team and I perform an average of 2 open heart surgeries a day on weekdays. Our ICU is covered by 3 intensivists, and 2 were originally heart surgeons. We like to make sure all members receive the proper treatment, with minimal risks.

How I thrive

I try to stay well by avoiding stress, having fun, eat healthy and practice my sports as much as I can.I love helping patients in underprivileged countries this is why I love to participate in medical missions.
