About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. My name is Pauline Chang, and I am an optometrist at Kaiser Permanente Mission Viejo Medical Offices.

Biography

Growing up, I was raised all over the United States. I have lived on the East Coast and in Midwest and South before settling in beautiful Southern California. I decided to go into optometry because of my third grade teacher blindfolding us in the classroom and asking us to find our seats. This was to show how difficult it was for Helen Keller to navigate and for any person who is visually impaired. It had a profound affect on me and carried me into this career to protect and enhance vision. I have worked in many different practice settings and have roots in vision therapy. I firmly believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and this applies to all areas of health, including your vision.

About my practice

It is important to me to find out what my patient's visual needs are, whether it is for work, school, or play. With this information, I can help determine what options are suitable to those needs, for example glasses, contacts, medication, surgery, or vision therapy. I feel that is also important to do a regular eye exam for preventive care, to detect diseases, and to monitor eye health changes. I believe in treating my patients as if they were an extension of my own family.

How I thrive

In my free time, I love to travel with my family and friends, read, catch up on movies, fish, and take nature walks.
