About Me

Hello and welcome to my Web page! I would like to share a little bit of my background with you. I am board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. I am committed to providing the excellent care to my patients that I want for my family.

Biography

I obtained my medical degree from the Institute of Medicine in Rangoon, Myanmar. I came to the United States in 1997 and completed my residency in internal medicine at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York. I completed fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York. I also completed fellowship training in sleep medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Sleep Center, Manhasset, New York. I joined Kaiser Permanente as attending physician in Kern County in 2004. I was responsible for establishing the Pulmonary Department in Kern County.

About my practice

When I am not in the office seeing members I am making rounds in intensive care and the hospital. I see patients in the office for outpatient consultations . Most of the members who see me have chronic conditions, so I feel it is very important for us to work together as a team to manage their health. Although I specialize in certain diseases and systems, I see patients as a whole rather than dividing in organs or systems.

How I thrive

When I am not working I play golf, soccer, and ski. I also enjoy reading and playing chess. I believe in healthy dieting and regular exercise.
