About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to serve you in your health care needs.

Biography

I'm a native Californian, born in Modesto but raised primarily in Reno, Nevada. My undergraduate education was in biology at the University of Nevada in Reno, and I attended medical school at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Western University of Health Sciences. I interned in a family medicine program in the United States Navy and then served four years as a general medical officer. Subsequently, I spent three years in an internal medicine residency at Kern Medical Center, serving the last year as chief resident. Throughout my career, my wife has been with me. She raised our three children and has always taken care of me. We are now grandparents to nine wonderful grandchildren!

About my practice

For over 18 years, I have concentrated my practice primarily on the care of hospitalized patients. I really enjoy this aspect of medicine. I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be involved in this aspect of your care. As a general internist, I see my strengths primarily as a diagnostician and one who directs your hospital care, bringing in specialty and subspecialty care as needed. An important part of your care in the hospital is returning you to your primary physician for follow-up, and providing him or her a good record of all of your medical information. I work hard to make this happen.

How I thrive

My beliefs are to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. My wife and family are my next priorities. Of course, proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep are also important. My hobbies include running and learning foreign languages along with their associated cultures. My wife and I work hardest on our French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, and Romanian. We also dabble in other languages, wishing we were better in all of them and had more time for practice.
