About Me

Welcome! I chose to practice primary care at Kaiser Permanente because I appreciate preventive and value-based care. I promote prevention, cholesterol and blood pressure management, and other actions to help have a long and healthy life.

Biography

I grew up in Tustin, California, and was a swimmer with asthma. Over time, I came to highly value health and the power of medicine to optimize the function of the body. During college at Stanford University, I made my mind up to become a doctor. During medical school at UC San Diego, I decided I wanted to be a family physician at Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

One of the things I enjoy most about medicine is prevention. For example, I like to start members on medicine (when appropriate) and lifestyle changes to help keep their arteries open, prevent complications, and keep them healthy. I enjoy promoting cancer screenings, vaccines, and treating blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes to help people remain active and healthy.

How I thrive

I eat healthy with a lot of fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, soy, walnuts, and almonds. I swim or do other exercise every day, and sometimes I race in masters swim meets with people around my age. I use sun protection, and I enjoy time with family including my 3 adult sons when they are available. I enjoy concerts and other outings with friends or family as well.
