About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I look forward to working with you to care for your health. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because I appreciated the emphasis on preventive care. I help promote cholesterol management, preventive medicine and activities to reduce cardiovascular risk.

Biography

I grew up in Tustin, California, and was a swimmer and water polo player who had asthma. Over time, I came to highly value health and the power of medicine to optimize the function of the body. During college at Stanford University, I made my mind up to become a doctor; and during medical school at UC San Diego, I decided I wanted to be a family physician at Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

I enjoy seeing members of all ages, including children. One of the things I enjoy most about medicine is prevention. For example, I like to start appropriate members on medicine and lifestyle changes to help keep their arteries open, prevent complications, and keep them healthy. Other preventive care measures I like to promote include vaccinations, stopping smoking, medicines for blood pressure and cholesterol control, and appropriate screenings.

How I thrive

I take care of myself by following a healthy lifestyle. I follow a Mediterranean diet that includes a lot of fresh vegetables from local farmers' markets and regular consumption of walnuts, almonds, fish, and soy. I minimize my consumption of trans fats and saturated fats. I exercise regularly, use sun protection, and would definitely never smoke. I have three boys I enjoy running around with, and I exercise regularly.
