About Me
Welcome to my Web page. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
Biography
I was born in the Midwest, Iowa but moved s during my youth. I lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, and even Toronto, Canada all before starting high school. I spent my high school and college years in Southern California. I planned to be a doctor at the age of 13 when my father suffered a heart attack. I went to UC San Diego for my undergraduate degree and briefly considered a career in research, even pursuing a graduate degree at UCLA. But as the years went on decided medicine was the best fit for me. I attended medical school at George Washington University and decided to join the Navy to help fund my medical studies. After my Ob/Gyn residency training the University of Kentucky, I reported for active duty in the U.S. Navy. I was lucky enough to start as faculty the Naval Medical Center in San Diego for several years, with one brief trip overseas to Okinawa, Japan. Once I completed my obligation in the Navy, I join Kaiser Permanente and am delighted to be here.
About my practice
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what patients need. This allows people to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes. It is a privilege to help patients understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, facilitate getting them the appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that patients have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with my husband and two boys. We love to take in the San Diego sites and attractions on a regular basis, and we enjoy traveling during our time off. I love to jog and take exercise classes at my gym, and I also love to spend time with my parents and sister as much as possible even though they live in the Northwest. My mom and I are best friends.
