About Me

Welcome! My name is Madhu Advani. I am a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente's Ming Medical Offices. I have been with the organization for 23 years. I hope you will take a moment to read more about me, why I chose to become a physician and how I approach taking care of my young patients. Finding a doctor who you can partner with to care for your children is an important step, and I hope I can make this easier for you.

Biography

I was born in Paris, France and have lived my young life all over the world. At the age of 5, I knew I wanted to become a physician and knew I wanted to be a pediatrician in my teens. I did my medical schooling in India and then did my training in the United States. I have done post-graduate work in infectious disease. I joined Kaiser Permanente 23 years ago and have loved every moment of this time. My reason for choosing pediatrics was that I think kids are honest and tell you things like they see them. There is no pretence.

About my practice

I use my practice to work with children in not only their physical health but also their emotional health. I want them to succeed, so I talk to them about life and share with them life lessons. I am educationally oriented so I push children to study and work towards goals. I have a tendency to talk to the patients first no matter how young and then get the parents involved. I will educate and want to partner with the child and parents to provide the care so that everyone has a say in how things will progress. I have great respect for children and they are also my teachers.

How I thrive

I balance my life well by taking care of myself both physically and emotionally. I am an avid reader. I like to knit and do yoga. I am interested in the philosophy of life since I feel life is a classroom and we are all here to learn. I do travel a lot and love to learn about different cultures.
