About Me

I was born in Hackensack, N.J. but moved to Colorado when I was two years old. I grew up in Westminster and went to Pomona High School in Arvada. I then went to Colorado State University for my undergraduate degree in exercise and sport science. After working as an Emergency Medical Technician for a local ambulance service for one year, I was accepted into physician assistant school at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Ill. I graduated from physician assistant school in 2000. I worked in college health at the University of Denver and urgent care for Kaiser Permanente Colorado until I joined orthopedics in June 2010. I married an amazing woman in 2001. She is a physical therapist and we met on the ambulance. We were paired together to work on the same ambulance and the rest is history. We have two boys. Gavin was born in 2005 and Wyatt in 2007 and I can't get enough of them. The thing I enjoy most in life is spending time with my wife and boys.

About my practice

I really enjoy working with a large group of health professionals within orthopedics. I'm on the sports team which means my specialty is knees and shoulders. I'm a big believer in simply listening to the patient and making decisions about the patient's health together or as a partnership. Patients need to be well informed and need to leave the office with something in writing that explains the diagnosis and course of treatment. All questions need to be addressed before the appointment is complete.

How I thrive

I thrive by staying extremely active and having an optimistic attitude. I ride my bike to work year-round and that really gets me primed and ready for my day. I also enjoy tennis, squash, resistance training, and mountain biking. Having two boys forces you to remain active at all times and I love it. Another reason I'm thriving is because Kaiser Permanente Colorado orthopedics allows me to have a day off each week since we work 10 hour shifts. This allows me to be involved with taking the boys to and from school one day each week which is vital for me. Last but not least, I'm thriving because I married an amazing woman. Having a supportive and loving spouse is crucial.
