About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. Nice to meet you! I am Dr. Steven Lam, a family medicine physician working at the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center.

Biography

I was born here in Los Angeles, and moved back to Taiwan as a child. My parents were also family medicine physicians and my home was their clinic, where I grew up surrounded by medicine. I came to know many of the patients and their families on a personal level, and that gave me unique insights into patient care. I moved back to the United States during high school and attended UC Irvine for my undergraduate degree. Then I completed my medical school training and residency at the Medical College of Virginia, before finally moving back to Los Angeles. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2017, and I plan to practice here for the remainder of my career.

About my practice

I believe that good healthcare is about more than simply handing out medications or treating conditions as they arise. It is about creating a relationship between doctor and patient, one built on trust and respect. I will always strive to listen to you and address any concerns you may have. I want to treat you when you are sick and help you stay healthy when you are well with preventive care. At the same time, I encourage you to take charge of your own health and become an active partner in your care.

How I thrive

I enjoy relaxing and recharging during my times away from work, spending them with my friends and family. I try to keep an active imagination and write when I have the chance. I love music, having been part of several choirs in the past. For instrumental pieces, I especially enjoy piano and violin, although I have been told that my music puts people to sleep.
