About Me
Welcome! I’m Dr. Yau, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for your child. I believe every family deserves a pediatrician who listens, understands, and partners with them to support their child’s growth and health.
Biography
I grew up in Michigan, completed medical school in Ohio, and then moved to Los Angeles to complete my pediatrics training. My interest in pediatrics began early. I enjoyed tutoring elementary school students and even taught a Mandarin preschool class in high school. During medical school, I was drawn to pediatrics because of the opportunity to positively impact children’s health and development from an early age. I enjoy the variety and complexity that pediatric medicine brings, and I find it incredibly rewarding to care for children as they grow. Working with kids is not only meaningful — it’s fun, joyful, and full of surprises.
About my practice
I aim to build trusting, collaborative relationships with both children and their families. I encourage parents to be strong advocates for their children, and I prioritize creating a space where they feel heard and supported. I believe pediatric care should be proactive and individualized, tailored to each child’s stage of life and unique needs. I take a holistic view of health, considering the family’s values, lifestyle, and goals when creating care plans.
How I thrive
I’m a mom to 2 young girls, and our everyday life is a beautiful chaos right now. They constantly teach me new things and give me deeper insight into my work as a pediatrician. I love spending time with my family: volunteering at my daughters' school, traveling, and trying new coffee shops with my husband. To stay active, I take long walks with my dog while listening to mystery audiobooks.
