About Me

I am originally from a small farm town in Illinois. Medical training took my wife and me to sunny California, but after several years working there, we decided to move to Colorado to be closer to family. As an active, outdoorsy person, the proximity to the mountains was also an irresistible benefit of moving to the Denver area. Having trained and worked at Kaiser Permanente in California, I knew I wanted to stay with Kaiser Permanente due to their focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle and prevention of disease.

About my practice

The dynamic interplay between the various organ systems within the body is what drew me to pursue a career in internal medicine, as I feel this often becomes most apparent as people age. As nerdy as that may sound, I chose to work in primary care because I desire to form long-term relationships with patients and assist them in meeting their goals as they grow older. I like to work with patients to understand their current situation and concerns, and then come up with a treatment plan that is both safe and fits the patient’s goals of care. I also enjoy working closely with the nurses, social workers, pharmacists and doctors within the medical office setting to help our patients meet these goals as a team. I see patients ages 18 or older.

How I thrive

In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, whether in my own backyard or in the wilderness, with my wife and our dog. On weekend nights you might find me at a local concert venue taking in a wide variety of music types or just reading a good book. I’m a sucker for a good historical fiction novel.
