About Me
I am pleased to offer this Web page as a means to provide helpful medical information for members, as well as an opportunity for you to learn more about me. Biography
I was born in Korea and came to the United States when I was 8. I lived in Chicago for 20 years and moved to Orange County in 1996. Ever since childhood, I had a lot of interest in math and science. Therefore, I studied electrical engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After working as a computer systems analyst for four years, I decided to pursue a career in medicine. My desire was to integrate medical knowledge and technology to help people in a more direct way.
About my practice
I like to empower members with medical information. I believe that medical care can be most effective when the physician and the patient work together. Whether the problem is diabetes or cancer, I like to provide pertinent information so that we can make the right decisions, together. I also believe that prevention is far more important than treatment. During my visits, I strongly emphasize preventive tests such as Pap tests, mammograms, and colon cancer screening.
How I thrive
I enjoy playing all kinds of sports (running, basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, etc.). I also enjoy reading and learning about a broad range of topics (from Guatemalan history to quantum physics). I also lead a team of physicians and dentists on short-term medical mission trips a few times a year to various countries (Guatemala, Costa Rica, etc.).
