About Me
Welcome to my Web page. Here is a little introduction about me and the work I do at Kaiser Permanente.
Biography
I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, where I attended medical school. I came to the United States in 1991 and completed my residency in psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After working at the Houston VA Medical Center for five years I moved to California to be closer to my family. I have been working at Kaiser Permanente since September 2002.
About my practice
I am an adult psychiatrist at the Fontana Counseling Center, focusing primarily on evaluation and medication management. I am fortunate to work with a friendly and collegial team of clerical staff, nurses, therapists, and psychiatrists. We try to work together as closely as possible to help patients who come to our clinic. Usually an intake is done by a therapist who will refer a patient to a psychiatrist if medications seem to be indicated. We have many groups available for weekly therapy, in addition to individual counseling sessions by our therapists. If you need medication, a psychiatrist will see you for monitoring. Our nurses are available to give you guidance and assistance, especially when you have questions or problems with your medications or need refills.
How I thrive
I strive to stay centered through daily meditation and other mindfulness practices. I recharge with adequate rest, uplifting music and books, doing crafts, and healthy plant-based nutrition. I stay active with indoor and outdoor exercises especially walking and yoga.
